“One Belt, One Road” has become a “highway” for Chinese companies to invest in Kenya

Kenyan President William Ruto will pay a three-day visit to Beijing on October 15 to participate in the third "Belt and Road" Summit Forum, which will highlight the strong bilateral relations between Kenya and China and highlight Kenya's active participation in the "Belt and Road" "initiative. This will be President Ruto's first visit to China since taking office in September 2022, and Nairobi hopes to deepen bilateral relations with China.

The third Belt and Road Forum will bring together world leaders in Beijing to engage in dialogue on cooperation and partnerships, focusing on infrastructure development and strengthening connectivity between continents and peoples. President Ruto will deliver a keynote speech titled "Digital Economy as a New Source of Growth" at the high-level forum, emphasizing Kenya's progress in information and communications technology (ICT) and innovation. Kenya is an important participant in the 'Belt and Road Initiative'.

President Ruto participated in the "Kenya-Chinese Investors Roundtable" and emphasized Kenya's status as an investment center for Chinese enterprises, aiming to establish a mutually beneficial partnership for the two countries and peoples. Kenya will prioritize cooperation with like-minded countries to address common challenges and promote global prosperity. Kenya particularly hopes to deepen relations with China under the New Silk Road framework to upgrade Kenyan infrastructure and promote Kenyan trade and economic growth.
